Rod & Reel Services

Keep your tackle working hard.

Every trip asks a lot from your gear. Sand gets into drag systems, rod guides wear down, and line can twist at the worst possible moment. Why let a tired setup spoil a good day on the water?

We handle in-store repair and maintenance with the same steady care we’d want on our own kit. Bring in the reel, rod, or a full outfit, and we’ll get it back fishing-ready with clear advice and no guesswork.

Keep your gear ready for the next trip

Three core services, one straightforward process. Need a quick clean-up, a guide swap, or a fresh spool before weekend bites start? We’ve got it covered.

Reel cleaning and lubrication

Salt, grit, and old grease build up fast. We strip the drag housing, clean the working parts, and re-lube the reel so the retrieve stays smooth.

  • Body wipe-down and internal inspection
  • Fresh grease and oil where it matters
  • Drag feel checked before pickup

Rod repair and guide replacement

Snapped tip top? Frayed insert? We can replace damaged guides, tidy wraps, and inspect the blank for hidden trouble before it becomes a bigger fix.

  • Guide ring swaps and line-safe finishing
  • Handle and wrap checks for wear
  • Advice on repair versus replacement

Custom line spooling

Monofilament, fluoro, or braid? We’ll spool it to the reel’s spec, lay it tight, and keep memory, twist, and wasted line to a minimum.

  • Matched to your rod and target species
  • Level fills for casting control
  • Leader setup available on request
Drop-off and pickup

Walk in, tell us what’s wrong, and we’ll take it from there.

Your gear doesn’t need a long form or a complicated handover. Bring the rod or reel to the counter, describe the problem, and we’ll log the job, quote the work, and agree the best next step before anything moves forward. That’s the whole point, isn’t it?

1. Drop it off We inspect the issue, note wear points, and confirm the service path.
2. We service it Parts are cleaned, repaired, or replaced using workshop-tested methods.
3. Pick it up You collect gear that feels right and fishes the way it should.

Clear starting prices help you plan the repair. Some jobs take five minutes, others need a closer look. If a guide frame is crushed or a reel has deeper wear, we’ll explain the options first.

What you can expect

We keep the price sheet simple because fishing gear already gives you enough surprises. Basic tune-ups are fixed, line spooling depends on the line type and reel size, and rod guide work is quoted after inspection. Need the shortest answer possible? Bring it in and we’ll tell you straight away.

Most reel services are completed within a few working days.
We’ll always confirm any extra parts before we proceed.

Why anglers keep coming back

Short words from regulars who needed their gear sorted fast. Different situations, same outcome. Sound familiar?

“My reel came back smoother than it’s been in years. They explained the issue in plain English and didn’t fuss about the fix.”

Trennan S.

“Martoni Urdanigo from our club had two rods repaired after a windy weekend, and both were back on the rack before the next trip. The workmanship was tidy, the price was fair, and the staff kept us updated without chasing.”

Martoni Urdanigo, Birmingham Bass Club

“Why did we choose Tundra Tackle? Because they spooled braid properly, checked the drag, and sent us out with the confidence to fish hard all weekend.”

Estanise F.
